Get ready for campus with the College Success Summit
Starting with the Class of 2020, all DCPS graduates heading to college can attend the DCPS Persists College Success Summit, a pre-college orientation that helps first-year students start college with confidence. Recent graduates can meet other DCPS students attending their college, get tips on time management, building a course schedule, financial aid, getting involved on campus, and more! Parents and families can also attend a special session for them to help their student navigate college life.
The 2020 College Success Summit happened in early August. Sign up for our newsletter to get updates about DCPS Persists!
DCPS Persists Coaches are there for you
At the core of DCPS Persists are our Coaches, who are there to help you navigate the transition to college and get the most out of your experience once you’re on campus. Each year, 750 DCPS graduates are matched with a Coach. Talk to your College and Career Coordinator to find out if you’re one of them!
DCPS Persists Coaches will:
- Help you navigate financial aid, course registration, college-level courses, and more.
- Check in with you regularly by phone, text, email, or in-person.
- Serve as a resource when you have questions or run into challenges.
- Support you through the first two years of college.
Coaches are matched with eligible students based on the college you plan to attend, so they get to know the place you’re getting your degree.
